HHS provides a comprehensive Orientation and Occupational Health and Safety training program for Support Care and Administrative staff. Encouragement is given for ongoing learning and development in all areas of the organisation.
HHS presents compulsory training workshops for Support Carers and Administrative staff to strengthen direct service provision, sustain safe workplace practises and to promote quality service outcomes.
Induction A comprehensive Induction session is conducted following the appointment of a successful candidate.
Orientation This workshop provides practical information relating to the organisations policies and procedures and holistic service approach.
Manual Handling A practical workshop tailored to meet the requirements of staff in both Support Care service and Administrative roles with a focus on the prevention of manual handling injuries in the workplace.
Safe Travel Program This workshop is designed to increase driver awareness of ‘in transit’ hazards and risks for Support Carers and Administrative staff who are regularly on the road as an intrinsic part of their role.
Hazard Identification This interactive workshop focuses on increasing awareness, effective reporting and the management of common risks that occur in the workplace.
Infection Control This course reviews effective infection control practices and aims to increase awareness for restricting the spread of infection in the workplace.
First Aid This course provides practical discussion and hands on exercises to establish the skills required to manage basic first aid situations.
Traineeships HHS supports nationally recognised accredited training such as Certificate III in Home & Community Care, Aged Care, Workplace Assessment and related Diploma courses through traineeships and funded programs supported by a Registered Training Organisation.
Learning and Development Formal and informal training opportunities such as sector seminars, forums and conferences are offered to staff as identified.
Mentoring HHS promotes mentoring and buddying throughout the organisation and we have a dedicated HR Officer for Support Care Service staff.
